So sorry. Do NOT let this derail you. Make time for you (i.e. eating well/cooking good food/exercising) and then spend the rest of your time looking for a new job.

So sorry to hear it. I was laid off last week due to lack of grant funding. The uncertainty stinks... but as others said, it can be an opportunity! I'm enjoying the (relatively) stress free time to concentrate on eating well and exercising. And now looking for a job that allows me the healthy lifestyle I amooking for. Good luck!

That stinks... but being you didn't like the job anyway... in the end it will probably turn out to be a good thing. Take a deep breath. You will be OK.

So sorry - I know from personal experience it's a real blow.  But, as others have said, you can collect unemployment while looking for a new job.  The benefits last for quite a while.

Good luck to you -- and continued success with your weight loss....you are doing great!

Big hugs going out to you.  Don't be hard on yourself - so what if the feeling was mutual?

If you haven't already - call the state unemployment office and file a claim.  Your benefits won't start until you do and they aren't at all retroactive, so don't let this slip.

Indeed.com is my favorite resource for job searching.  It hits several job boards and puts them all in one place.

Mute,

Just remember when one door closes another one opens.  I like yourself was fired from a job that I had for 26 years, due to a Manager that was just a jerk.  I worked in a school for awhile as a substitute secretary, then found a full time job which I HATED!  Low and behold I was let go from that place of employment, and now work at a company I LOVE, DOING A JOB THAT I LOVE.  Just stay positive and see where this journey takes you!

You will be OK.  If you have never been unemployed, you will find a job. It take four months on average to find a new job, so I'd say that you are in the zone!  Remember: NO END = New Opportunity, Exciting New Direction.  Keep your chin up.
